Emilie Fabricius Hacke has worked on numerous Danish films and TV series, but it wasn’t until a couple of years ago that she finally embarked on her journey to become a director.
Since then, she has been devoted to conveying fragile emotions through film, music videos, and commercials with a dream of changing the perception of what kind of stories need to be told. She wants to shine a light on people whose stories and inner conflict have been overlooked and secondary in classical storytelling. To her, these hidden feelings are what make you stop, pause, and think for a second – of the people around you and all the things left unsaid.
She has a master’s degree in film studies from the University of Copenhagen and is a graduate of the alternative film school 18Frames.
All of her three short films En Svale Gør Ingen Sommer (2021), En Anden Uden Mig (2024) and I has been shortlisted for the Danish Academy Award, Robert, and she won Best Short Film at EKKO (2025) for En Anden Uden Mig.
